A fair featuring craftspeople and traditional food, a piano and violin recital, festival films and live concerts are among the alternatives to Halloween parties in Bucharest. For the October 30–November 1, 2026 weekend, options range from free admission to concert evenings with reserved seating at a table.

We have selected events with announced schedules and distinguished base ticket prices from amounts that include booking fees wherever the platforms make this distinction. For popular performances, availability matters just as much as price: a show may still appear in the calendar even when tickets have sold out.

The “100 Romanian traditions” fair in the courtyard of the Peasant Museum

From October 30 to November 1, the courtyard of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant hosts the “100 Romanian traditions” fair. Folk artisans will bring painted pottery, icons, textiles, carved wooden objects and traditional clothing. Participants include Dana Popa, presenting Oltenian rugs woven on a vertical loom, and traditional musical instrument maker Albu Marin.

The food area will offer sarmale — stuffed cabbage rolls — rustic sour soup, pastramă and freshly pressed grape juice. The event can be included in a walk around the Piața Victoriei area, with no admission ticket required for the fair.

Painting and woodcarving workshops for children and adults are also planned. The programme includes a separate pumpkin-carving workshop, but this is not the theme of the entire fair. Check participation requirements and any workshop fees with the organisers.

  • When: Friday–Sunday, October 30–November 1, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Where: the courtyard of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant.

  • Entrance address: 3 Strada Monetăriei, Sector 1.

  • Cost: free admission to the fair; products, food and any paid activities are charged separately.

“Sound cartographies”: a piano and violin recital at the Maps Museum

The series pairs music with a map from the museum’s collection. For this recital, the chosen map depicts the Kingdom of Hungary and neighbouring regions and was produced by Johann Baptist Homann in Nuremberg around 1720. Attendance requires registration and a paid ticket, subject to availability.

  • When: Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m.

  • Where: the National Museum of Maps and Old Books.

  • Address: 39 Strada Londra, Sector 1.
