Successful businesswomen in Bucharest

In an often male-dominated economic landscape, Bucharest is increasingly becoming the scene of success stories written by women who have not only built solid businesses, but have taken on genuine leadership roles. These entrepreneurs were not content to follow trends - they created them. They didn't build "women's" businesses, but relevant, scalable and competitive companies, whatever the industry.

Business women are taking big decisions, playing in tough markets and, most importantly, opening doors for others. And, all in a world that is (still) a man's world.

What do all these women have in common? Self-confidence, strategic clarity, adaptability and resilience to failure that becomes a force for success.

Here are six women doing successful business in Bucharest, each in her own style - but all with real impact:

1. Cristina Bâtlan – Fashioned a luxury brand with precision and instinct

Cristina Bâtlan launched Musette in 1992, at the age of 19, and turned it into one of Romania’s most recognized fashion brands. Today, Musette owns four factories, employs over 550 people, and operates in 28 locations across Romania, the U.S., Austria, France, and Israel.

She’s not just the founder — she’s the strategist. Bâtlan is also an investor on the Romanian version of Shark Tank (“Imperiul Leilor”) and launched the “Chapters” platform to support other female entrepreneurs.

2. Camelia Șucu – Investing with discipline and vision

After exiting Mobexpert, Camelia Șucu built a diverse portfolio: high-end interior design (ClassIN), wellness clinics (Iconic Health), agri-retail (Abundia Market), and luxury furniture (Natuzzi). She doesn’t chase trends — she builds long-term value around quality and curation.

She also actively supports other entrepreneurs, including her daughters, who have launched their own ventures.

3. Aneta Bogdan – The branding strategist behind Romania’s biggest names

As co-founder of Brandient, Aneta Bogdan has redefined how Romanian companies build identity. She’s worked with Bitdefender, eMAG, Dedeman, Banca Transilvania, the Romanian Football Federation, and more.

Her book, Branding on the Eastern Front, is essential reading in Eastern European marketing circles.

4. Bianca Tudor – Built a business network with global reach

Bianca Tudor founded Elite Business Women in 2015 to provide more than just inspiration — she built infrastructure. Today, EBW has over 13,000 members across Romania, the UK, and the UAE, with programs for mentoring, investment, and international expansion. She’s also on the board of the World Business Angels Investment Forum.

5. Loredana Apreutese – Scaling smart in heavy logistics

As the executive driving International Alexander Group, Loredana Apreutese leads 18 companies in one of the most male-dominated industries: transport and logistics. Her leadership is marked by operational discipline, measured growth, and strong team loyalty.

6. Dana Vlășcianu – Smart franchising, adapted locally

Dana Vlășcianu brought the Spanish aesthetics brand Nomasvello to Romania and scaled it intelligently. She localized the business model, standardized processes, and grew a national network — all without compromising quality or ROI.

7. Amalia Sterescu – Leadership coach for the modern founder

After a career in IT at Oracle, Amalia Sterescu launched Public Speaking School and expanded into personal branding and executive visibility consulting. She works with CEOs, startups, and NGOs that want their voice to match their vision.
