The “I.L. Caragiale” National Theatre in Bucharest will host a series of performances and concerts between July 7 and September 8 on its open-air rooftop stage. The summer program, titled “Summer Nights, Up on the Theatre,” first launched in 2019.

According to the National Theatre of Bucharest (TNB), the series of shows in collaboration with independent theatres will continue this year. The program will feature both emerging artists and renowned names in Romanian theatre, including Oana Pellea, Marian Râlea, Marius Manole, Ada Milea, Raluca Aprodu, Lari Giorgescu, Cezar Antal, Alina Berzunţeanu, Antoaneta Zaharia, and many others.

As part of the Rooftop Season, curated in partnership with Overground Music, concerts will feature performances by byron, Luiza Zan & Jazzpar Trio, Dimitri's Bats, Coma, The Mono Jacks, Toulouse Lautrec & Rana, Valeria Stoica, and Paul Tihan & Andra Andriucă.

The open-air amphitheatre is a one-of-a-kind stage in Romania — a unique venue for both artists and audiences, located atop the National Theatre building, 24 meters above University Square.
