Apa Nova Bucharest, the operator of drinking water and sewage services in the capital, has paid the dividends for the 2024 financial year to the Bucharest City Hall. The value of the dividends, in accordance with the Concession Contract, is 19,567,568 lei, the equivalent of over 3.8 million euros.
“The annual dividend payment is a contractual responsibility that reflects the financial result, the company’s operational performance, and the outcome of the long-term partnership we have with the Bucharest City Hall. These are 25 years of work and progress, in which we have shown that a public service can achieve economic performance through long-term investment in critical infrastructure. This activity and collaboration bring direct and measurable benefits to Bucharest residents, including safe drinking water straight from the tap,” said Mădălin Mihailovici, CEO of Apa Nova Bucharest.
Since the beginning of the Concession Contract in 2000 until now, Apa Nova has transferred dividends amounting to over 60 million euros to the Bucharest City Hall, confirming the company's status as a long-term partner in the sustainable development of the city and its urban infrastructure.
For 2025, Apa Nova has allocated funds totaling 40.5 million euros for the modernization and expansion of the capital’s water and sewage networks. At the same time, projects are underway to increase energy independence using modern, integrated green energy solutions.
Over the 25 years since taking over the concession, Apa Nova, part of the Veolia Group, has invested more than 748 million euros in the modernization and expansion of Bucharest’s water and sewage systems. These projects have continuously improved the quality and performance of services by reducing water losses and adapting the infrastructure to the city's development needs.
