Perifeeric Festival, an event dedicated to families, children, and residents of Bucharest’s neighborhoods, returns from July 11 to 13 in Morarilor Park, located in the Pantelimon district, announces ARCUB – the Cultural Center of the City of Bucharest.

This year’s edition, themed “Urban Imprints”, invites the public to explore the visible and invisible traces that shape the identity of Bucharest. From forgotten architectural details and pavement textures to neighborhood stories, mural inscriptions, and collective memories, the audience is encouraged to see the city with fresh eyes—full of sensitivity, curiosity, and engagement.

Perifeeric thus becomes an invitation to rediscover the capital through cultural experiences outside the city center—in neighborhoods, parks, and community spaces. It is a festival that transforms public space into an accessible and participatory stage, bringing culture to places where it’s least expected—and most welcome.

The program is designed to encourage active participation, featuring a variety of interactive activities for all ages. Children can join creative workshops such as “Urban Imprints” or “Invisible Walls”, where they explore the city through graphics and collage, or model miniature clay houses and craft decorative tiles inspired by urban textures. Families can enjoy outdoor recreational and sports activities, including motor-skill trails, classic games, and guided movement sessions.

In the evenings, the atmosphere comes alive with live concerts from Cristina Lupu, Tony Baboon Band, and Zaibăr, as well as DJ sets by IORGA, featuring contemporary remixes of Romanian music. Each night will also feature outdoor film screenings, showcasing recent titles for all age groups. Complementing the cultural events are guided neighborhood tours through Grivița and Obor, led by historian Damian Anfile, offering captivating insights into the city’s hidden identity and urban memory.

The full schedule is available online.

Perifeeric Festival is part of a broader initiative by ARCUB to bring culture to every part of the city and to build bridges between the established central areas and outlying neighborhoods. Over the years, ARCUB has launched and supported numerous projects that have brought performances, exhibitions, concerts, and cultural interventions to unconventional venues throughout Bucharest—from schools and markets to small public squares and local parks. Alongside the large-scale events held in the city center, these actions reflect a central part of the institution’s mission: to democratize access to culture and transform the entire city into a network of living spaces where art can emerge unexpectedly and meaningfully in every local community.

The festival is free of charge and open to all, subject to available capacity. Access to Morarilor Park is from Șoseaua Pantelimon, near the intersection with Strada Morarilor, and the area is well connected by public transportation.

Visitors are encouraged to use public transport, bicycles, or electric scooters to reach the venue, as parking nearby is limited.
