The “Summer on the Lane” creative camp, hosted by the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum between July 7 and August 1, invites children to enjoy their summer vacation in a warm, rustic setting reminiscent of a traditional countryside courtyard—just like their grandparents’ village home.
The program aims to nurture a love for tradition and culture among young participants and to help preserve and pass on traditional Romanian crafts. By blending learning with fun, the organizers hope to inspire responsibility and a deeper appreciation for the country’s cultural heritage.
Over the course of four weeks, children will work alongside folk artisans from across Romania in a variety of hands-on workshops, including pottery, weaving, egg painting, doll-making, mask- and jewelry-making, icon painting on wood and glass, folk dancing, clay modeling, and wool felting.
The workshops are open to children aged 4 to 14.
