Theatre lovers and members of the "Mergem la teatru" community are once again invited to meet actors, directors, and playwrights as part of the Summer Theatre Festival, now in its second edition. Until August 31, ten free-entry events are scheduled — informal, open, and educational discussions, according to the organizers.

This year’s guests include Șerban Pavlu, Florin Piersic Jr., Ofelia Popii, Lia Bugnar, Ana Bianca Popescu, and Mihai Călin.

“Theatre should not be an elitist space. Nor should theatre discussions only happen through a parade of neologisms and specialized jargon. Through the Summer Theatre Festival, we aim to shorten the distance between artists and audiences, to validate public curiosity and remind artists how loved they truly are,” says Laura Ivăncioiu, founder of the Mergem la teatru group.

Șerban Pavlu opened the series of events with a meeting supported by Bucharest City Hall and ARCUB – The Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest.

The group was founded in 2020 by Laura Ivăncioiu and is moderated with the aim of fostering a community of passionate theatre-goers — people eager to learn and exchange ideas, more interested in asking questions than delivering judgments. The group currently has 66,000 members.
