Storm in Bucharest - ISU employees managed almost 600 interventions in the capital and Ilfov

Employees of the Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) handled nearly 600 interventions in Bucharest and Ilfov County following Monday's storm. Firefighters responded to over 150 fallen trees, which resulted in damage to more than 65 vehicles. Nearly 150 homes were flooded, along with numerous streets, basements, and garages.

"Due to the weather phenomena that occurred on June 9, 2025—including heavy downpours and strong winds—ISU B-IF firefighters managed 598 emergency responses in Bucharest and Ilfov," the Inspectorate announced on Tuesday.

Out of the total, 498 cases were reported in Bucharest, including 126 fallen trees and 10 detached construction elements, which damaged 63 cars. Additionally, 362 cases of water accumulation were recorded, affecting 45 streets, 48 households, 162 basements or semi-basements, 16 garages, 89 homes, and 2 other buildings.

In Ilfov County, 100 cases were handled: 30 fallen trees and 8 detached construction elements (causing damage to 5 vehicles), along with 62 instances of water accumulation (affecting 1 street, 10 households, 3 basements, 46 homes, and 2 other buildings).
