Shows, cultural activities, and sports experiences will take place on August 23 and 24 on Calea Victoriei and in Piața Amzei, as part of “Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade.”
One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend is the marathon dedicated to movement and rhythm – “The Night of Dance – Bucharest Dances.” The event, which turns the street into a huge dance floor, will take place on Saturday between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM, in front of the National Museum of Romanian History, at 12 Calea Victoriei.
More than ten dance styles – from salsa, Argentine tango, and bachata to Romanian folk dances, belly dance, shuffle dance, or lindy hop – will liven up the evening with spectacular demonstrations, flash mobs, and community dance moments, inviting the public to join the energy of dance.
Until August 31, Piața Amzei remains part of the pedestrian route of the “Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade” project and hosts the event “Piața Amzei – Urban Stage.”
In this context, street artists interested in performing here can apply until August 31 for a free temporary permit issued by ARCUB. Independent artists are invited to send their applications to strazideschise@arcub.ro, in compliance with the registration rules available on arcub.ro.
Piața Revoluției and the area near the intersection with Dacia Boulevard will come alive with sports activities organized by PROEDUS, available throughout the weekend from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. At the same time, the Kretzulescu Park area will become a space of creativity, where visual artists will set up their easels for new canvas painting demonstrations, on Saturday and Sunday between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Also, the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Filipescu-Cesianu House will welcome visitors on both weekend days with two permanent exhibitions: “The Museum of Ages – from Childhood to Old Age” and “Close to the Saints. The Frescoes of Văcărești Monastery after 40 Years”, open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with ticket-based access.
The full program for the weekend of August 23–24, 2025, is available at www.arcub.ro.
