Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade” returns this weekend on Calea Victoriei and in Piața Amzei, but only on Saturday, the organizers announce. On Sunday, Calea Victoriei will become part of the route of the 4th edition of L’Étape România by Tour de France, an event created for cycling enthusiasts.

Throughout Saturday, visitors can discover the permanent exhibitions hosted by the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Casa Filipescu-Cesianu. “The Museum of Ages – from childhood to old age” and “Near the saints. The frescoes of Văcărești Monastery after 40 years” offer a fascinating journey into Bucharest’s history and cultural heritage (ticketed access).

In the Piața Revoluției area, between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, children can enjoy interactive activities organized by MagiCAMP Association: games and creative experiences designed to bring smiles and positive energy. In front of the Museum of Art Collections, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, visual artists from the Association of Fine Artists of Bucharest will turn the urban space into an open-air studio, offering both live painting demonstrations and the chance for the public to directly engage with the artistic process.

In the evening, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on the esplanade of the National History Museum of Romania, the public is invited to a new series of concerts by emerging bands, part of the Open Sessions program – organized by ARCUB in collaboration with NEPI Rockcastle, Promenada Mall, Mega Mall Bucharest, Kiss FM, Magic FM Romania, and Rock FM. From the refined jazz of Răzvan Florescu Quartet, to the rock energy of Getchoo, and the powerful rhythms of Alexandra Căpitănescu & Band, the “Open Streets” stage will bring quality live music to a vibrant space in the very heart of the city.

Also between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, in the Odeon Theatre square, the urban experience will be complemented by FactoryLab powered by Raiffeisen Bank & Mezanin Market, presenting The Smallest Showroom in the World. Ten local entrepreneurs – creators of fashion, design objects, jewelry, illustrations, and handcrafted candles – will showcase their work in an original concept that blends art, design, and entrepreneurship.

Piața Amzei remains part of the pedestrian route of the project, hosting the event “Piața Amzei – Urban Stage.” In this context, street artists interested in performing here can apply for a temporary free permit issued by ARCUB. Independent artists are invited to send their requests to strazideschise@arcub.ro, following the conditions in the registration guidelines available at arcub.ro.

The artistic program for Saturday, 30 August 2025, is available at arcub.ro.

Traffic restrictions: Calea Victoriei, Piața Amzei Street – Christian Tell Street, Piața Amzei.

As part of the “Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade” program this weekend, Calea Victoriei will become pedestrian-only on 30 August, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, on the road segment from Dacia Boulevard to the intersection with Splaiul Independenței, without affecting the intersections. Crossing Calea Victoriei will still be allowed at Știrbei Vodă Street, C.A. Rosetti Street, Dem I. Dobrescu Street, Ion Câmpineanu Street, and Regina Elisabeta Boulevard.

The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) routes will be diverted without affecting passengers. Car traffic on Calea Victoriei will resume overnight (from Saturday to Sunday), between 11:00 PM and 9:00 AM. For participants’ safety, bicycle lanes on the streets closed to traffic will also be shut down.
