The performance “The Sonorities of Infinity – From George Enescu’s music to Constantin Brâncuși’s music” will take place in the Main Hall of the Bucharest National Opera on November 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

Universal artists, George Enescu and Constantin Brâncuși proudly carried their Romanian roots, weaving traditional motifs into their creations, which they refined with remarkable mastery. The first, through a sophisticated symphonic language that anticipated modern directions in twentieth-century music; the second, through avant-garde works that redefined modernist sculpture.

The performance invites the audience on a special journey through music and form, under the shared sign of creative infinity.

Structured in two parts, the program includes compositions by George Enescu, alongside several of Constantin Brâncuși’s favorite pieces – jazz standards and songs from Maria Tănase’s repertoire, brought to life through live sand art by Mariana Pachis, one of Romania’s most acclaimed contemporary visual artists.

Performance program

Part I

  1. George Enescu – Romanian Rhapsody No. 1
  2. George Enescu – Romanian Rhapsody No. 2
  3. George Enescu – Ballad
  4. George Enescu – Romanian Poem
  5. George Enescu – Œdipe (excerpts)
