Tour operator Dertour is launching direct flights from Bucharest to Bahrain starting in October. The weekly charter flight will operate during the periods October 28, 2025 – January 13, 2026, and March 24, 2026 – May 12, 2026. Prices start at €499/person for 7 nights with breakfast at a 4-star hotel, including flight and airport transfers. For All Inclusive packages, rates start at €799/person.

“Starting in October, Dertour is launching direct flights to the exotic destination of Bahrain. After just four hours of flying, Romanian tourists can explore a fascinating country in the Middle East. Bahrain is a perfect destination for winter holidays, with average daytime temperatures between 22°C and 30°C. It is known for its fine sandy beaches, turquoise waters, internationally renowned hotel chains, and cuisine that blends Arabic, Persian, Indian, and African influences. In addition, tourists can enjoy cultural attractions and a vibrant nightlife,” the company announced.

Prices start at €499/person for 7 nights with breakfast at 4-star hotels, with flights and transfers included. For All Inclusive packages, rates begin at €799/person.

“For us, Bahrain is not just a new destination on the map, but a holiday experience that breaks the mold. We’re talking about a country that, although only a four-hour flight away, opens the gates to a completely different universe where modernity and Oriental traditions intertwine naturally. The fact that we can offer this package at a more affordable price than a scheduled flight makes Bahrain a great deal for Romanian tourists. I believe this is the kind of opportunity you don’t want to miss, because it’s not just a vacation, but a rare, unique memory that takes you out of the ordinary,” said Cosmin Marinof, CEO of Dertour Romania.

The name Bahrain, which in Arabic means “two waters,” perfectly evokes its unique nature: underground freshwater meets the surrounding sea, highlighting the mixed and spectacular character of this destination.

In Bahrain, tourists will discover a rich history with cultural monuments and ancient forts included in the UNESCO heritage list, such as Qal’at al-Bahrain, an impressive archaeological site and fort containing relics from civilizations thousands of years old, or symbols like the famous “Tree of Life,” alongside remarkable landmarks such as the Al-Fateh Mosque. At the same time, the country impresses with contemporary attractions: spectacular skyscrapers, seaside shopping centers, or the Formula 1 circuit.

“In the past, the company was the first to introduce charter flights to Oman – Salalah, departing from Bucharest, a destination that quickly gained popularity among Romanian tourists. Following high demand, in 2026 charter flights will also be operated for the first time from Timișoara, with weekly frequency (220 seats, flights on Wednesdays, from April 1 – May 6, 2026),” the company noted.

In addition, in June 2025, Dertour strengthened its market position by opening its 53rd agency, in Promenada Mall Bucharest.

Dertour Group, part of the Rewe Group, is one of the leaders of the tourism industry in Germany. Headquartered in Cologne, it has over 130 companies and generated €6 billion in revenue in 2023. The company has a team of 10,500 employees across 16 European countries, including Romania.

Each year, over 10 million tourists choose vacations organized by one of the group’s tour operators and specialists: DERTOUR and ITS in Germany; Kuoni & Helvetic Tours; Exim Tours and Kartago Tours in Eastern Europe; DERTOUR in Romania; Apollo in Scandinavia; as well as Kuoni in the UK and France.

The group also has over 2,100 travel agencies (such as Dertour, DERPART, Kuoni, Exim, and Fischer, as well as franchises and partners) and hotel chains including Sentido, Aldiana, Calimera, and COOEE.
