A 20-year-old man was injured after losing control of the steering wheel, causing the car he was driving to crash into a tram station shelter and overturn. The accident happened Tuesday night at the intersection of Calea 13 Septembrie and Mihail Sebastian Street in Bucharest.
On Tuesday, at around 12:10 a.m., the Traffic Police Brigade was notified via the 112 emergency number about a traffic accident at the intersection of Calea 13 Septembrie and Mihail Sebastian Street.
"According to initial information, the driver of a vehicle, a 20-year-old man, who was traveling on Calea 13 Septembrie from Șoseaua Progresului toward Drumul Sării, is believed to have lost control of the direction of travel and collided with the tram station shelter. As a result of the impact, the car overturned onto its roof," the Capital Traffic Police Brigade reported.
The driver was tested with a breathalyzer and drug test, both results coming back zero and negative, respectively.
Following the accident, the 20-year-old man was injured and transported to the hospital.
"Investigations are being carried out by officers from the Traffic Police Brigade in order to establish the exact causes and circumstances of the accident," the police further stated.
