Inspectors from the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) uncovered several violations during an inspection at a beauty salon in Bucharest, including the absence of proper authorization, the use of expired products, and expired sterilized instrument packages. As a result, the salon was fined 55,000 lei.

ANPC representatives announced on Thursday that the inspection targeted the business SC Beautyque Med SRL – Dr. Delia Theiss Clinic, following a consumer complaint.

"Following the inspection, the following violations of current legal provisions were found: lack of authorization for providing beauty and body care services; use of expired products; presence of sterilized instrument packages past their expiration date, as well as witness rolls either lacking expiration dates or showing expired dates,” ANPC stated.

Inspectors also found that the clinic displayed prices in euros without providing additional information on payment methods, which could mislead consumers. Furthermore, the clinic promoted its services using claims and messages whose accuracy could not be verified, which ANPC considers likely to influence consumers' purchasing decisions and constitutes an unfair commercial practice.

The beauty salon was fined 55,000 lei.

ANPC also reported the situation to other institutions responsible for overseeing medical and beauty services.
