Accident between a tram and a bus in the Capital – 11 people are receiving medical care

Eleven people required medical attention after a collision between a tram and a bus that occurred Thursday in Bucharest, at the intersection of Calea 13 Septembrie and Progresului Road in Sector 5. Six people were taken to the hospital. Both drivers were tested with a breathalyzer, and the result was 0.
UPDATE – As of 11:30 AM, six adult individuals had been transported to University Hospital, Central Military Hospital, St. John Hospital, and Bagdasar-Arseni Hospital, according to ISU representatives.
UPDATE – “On July 31, at around 10:49 AM, the Traffic Police Brigade was notified via a 112 emergency call regarding a traffic accident involving two STB vehicles at the intersection of Calea 13 Septembrie and Progresului Road in Sector 5,” announced the Traffic Police Brigade.
According to preliminary information, a bus traveling on Calea 13 Septembrie collided with a tram traveling on Progresului Road.
At the moment, several individuals received medical assistance on-site, and two of them were transported to the hospital for specialized care.
Both drivers were tested with a breathalyzer, and the result was 0.
“A scene investigation is being carried out to determine the exact causes and circumstances in which the accident occurred,” police added.

At the time of reporting, eleven people were receiving medical assistance at the scene from emergency crews. Both drivers and passengers from the two public transport vehicles were being treated.
To manage the emergency, the following were progressively alerted and dispatched: one fire engine, one extrication unit, six SMURD ambulances, the SMURD motorcycle unit, and two Ambulance Service teams as support.
