The playroom (Ludoteca) at the “Ion Creangă” Branch of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library (10 General Christian Tell Street, Sector 1) will be officially reopened on Thursday at 5:00 PM, following a modernization process carried out through a community-driven project.
The initiative was launched by the Young Initiative Association in partnership with the Bucharest Metropolitan Library, with creative support from Sundazed Interiors, private sponsors, and more than 70 individual donors.
The newly refurbished Ludoteca is designed to be a safe, creative, and inclusive space where children and teenagers can enjoy reading, educational games, and cultural activities. The design, curated by Sundazed Interiors, blends contemporary aesthetics with functionality, offering an experience that sparks curiosity and imagination.
“The reopening of this space dedicated to young people is a testament to our commitment to early education and equitable access to culture. It’s the result of a genuine collaboration between the community, institutions, and the private sector – a great example of how we can build a better future together,” said Ramona Ioana Mezei, Manager of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library.
“We strongly believed in this project, which started with a playroom that deserved more and has now become a modern, vibrant, and welcoming space where children can learn, dream, and express themselves freely. We’re grateful to everyone who chose to get involved – every single contribution made a difference,” emphasized Răzvan Sassu, President of the Young Initiative Association.
The opening event will include creative activities for children, guided tours of the space, a presentation of the concept behind the transformation, and a few additional surprises.
