A 41-year-old man was caught by police in Bucharest with nine kilograms of cannabis and 400 grams of cannabis resin, all packaged in multiple bags. Investigators found that the drugs had been purchased in Spain and shipped to Romania via an international courier service.

According to the Romanian Police, the man is under investigation for international and domestic drug trafficking.

He was caught in the act on June 25, 2025, while transporting the drugs. The substances had been hidden in a parcel sent from Spain.

He was detained for 24 hours and later placed in preventive arrest for 30 days by the Bucharest Tribunal.
