Bucharest remains lively even after Christmas, although some of the themed markets close before the end of the year. For the 2025–2026 winter season, the Capital set a record, with no fewer than eight Christmas markets organized across several areas of the city. However, only three of them remain open through New Year’s Eve, offering residents and tourists leisure options during the holiday period between years.
The three markets that stay open are located in Sector 1 and Sector 3 and feature special schedules adapted to the festive season. They include food court areas, activities for children, concerts, themed shows, and relaxation spaces, maintaining the holiday atmosphere until early January 2026.
Crăciunul Nordului Christmas market at Romexpo

The largest Christmas market in Bucharest, Crăciunul Nordului, is organized in the Romexpo area and remains open until January 4, 2026. Its location in the northern part of the Capital makes it easily accessible both for city residents and for tourists visiting Bucharest during the winter holidays.

In addition to its gastronomic offerings, the market also hosts artistic events, concerts, and interactive activities, making it an important attraction during the period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Băneasa Christmas World, in the northern area of the Capital

Another market that remains open until January 4, 2026, is Băneasa Christmas World, located outside Băneasa Shopping City, on DN1. The location is well known for the seasonal events organized annually and attracts a diverse audience, from families with children to young people and tourists.
Visiting hours are from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Unlike other markets, this one will be closed on January 1, 2026, resuming its activity in the following days until the official end of the season.
Băneasa Christmas World focuses on entertainment, offering themed shows, activities for children, and live concerts. The food court area is extensive, and the atmosphere is enhanced by festive light installations and winter-themed decorations, suitable both for relaxing walks and seasonal photos.
Winter Wonderland, the Christmas market at Piața Alba Iulia
The only Christmas market in Sector 3 that remains open after New Year’s Eve is Winter Wonderland, organized in the Piața Alba Iulia area. It can be visited until January 7, 2026, on Saint John’s Day, making it one of the longest-running markets of the winter season.
The market is open daily between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, according to information published by the organizers. It is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, activities dedicated to children, and a varied program of cultural and artistic events.
Winter Wonderland features both stalls with traditional products and entertainment areas, concerts, and themed shows. Thanks to its central location, the market is easily accessible by public transport and remains a popular option for Bucharest residents who want to enjoy the festive atmosphere even after the New Year begins.
