Bucharest is the city with the most tourist attractions, so it's no wonder that it's one of the top favorites of foreigners. What's more, the capital's charms don't just stop at its borders - its surroundings are also extremely attractive for those who want to admire the riches of our country.

If in a previous article we talked about attractions such as Lake and Snagov Forest, Băneasa Zoo, Therme, Ștribey Palace and the Greek Domain, now we will turn our attention to the most beautiful parks, monasteries and... Deltas! Find out what it's all about in the following lines:

Parcul Dendrologic Chitila - Located in the northwest of Bucharest, in the locality of Chitila, the Dendrologic Park of the same name is one of the most relaxing places to visit, near Bucharest. With an area of about 3 hectares, established in 2010 with European funds and the help of the Faculty of Horticulture of Bucharest, the park is home to an impressive diversity of trees and plants. Being a dendrological park, you will find here a real open-air botanical garden: species of roses, magnolias, hydrangeas, Siberian apple, Japanese quince, maples, oaks, willows and more - each corner of the park is full of new surprises that are more and more pleasant to the senses.

Edenland Park - Probably the most fun adventure park in Romania is also near the capital! Edenland Park, in Balotești, is the ideal place for all those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy moments of adventure with family and friends. For the little ones, the park features charming carousels, treetop trails, horse riding, mini golf and playground, while older adventurers can enjoy tailor-made challenges such as fast roller coasters, daring zip lines and 15-meter high jumps, rock climbing, archery or airsoft. What's more, at Edenland you'll also find very special accommodation in the middle of the forest, such as tree lodges and fairytale cottages on the ground. Whether you're looking for suspense or simply want to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, Edenland Park can offer you everything you could wish for!

Cernica Monastery - If you want peace for your soul, we wholeheartedly recommend Cernica Monastery! Located about 20 kilometers from Bucharest, in the locality of the same name, Cernica Monastery enjoys an impressive architecture, offering an atmosphere full of tranquility and recollection for all the faithful. It has its roots in the 16th century and has witnessed significant moments in Romania's history.

During the Ottoman occupation, the monastery was a place of resistance and preservation of national and religious identity. During the communist period, like many other monuments, it was subject to pressures and restrictions, but after the 1989 Revolution, monastic life and religious activities experienced a revival, and the monastery became again an important center of Romanian Orthodox spirituality.

Neajlov Delta - Yes, you can talk about the Delta even less than an hour from Bucharest. Located only 35 kilometers from the capital, in the Comana Natural Park, in Giurgiu County, the Neajlov Delta (or Balta Comana) is one of the most beautiful and less known natural areas in Romania, being a true paradise for nature lovers and wildlife watching enthusiasts.

As Romania's second largest delta in terms of biodiversity, the Neajlov Delta is home to 141 bird species, 31 mammal species and 1250 plant species. The main attraction of the Neajlov Delta is its picturesque landscape, dominated by the tranquil waters of the Neajlov River and the lush vegetation surrounding it.

Mogoșoaia Palace - Located only about 15 kilometers from Bucharest, Mogoșoaia Palace is more than just a building - it is a treasure of architecture and national history. Built more than three centuries ago (1702), Mogoșoaia Palace belonged to the Brâncoveanu family for almost 120 years. Devastated several times throughout history, reaching the point where you would never have thought it could be restored, the palace has somehow found its own resources to revive and still today delight our eyes and our pride as Romanians.

What's more, the palace park is a perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon outside Bucharest, in the open air. You can visit the permanent and seasonal exhibitions, stroll through the flower gardens, read in the shade of a lime tree or cool off under the conifers and enjoy your senses on the terrace or in the "Domnița Bălașa" lounge of the "Mogoșoaia Palace" restaurant.
