Spring doesn't arrive quietly in Bucharest. It comes with colourful stalls, the scent of gingerbread, red-and-white strings, and artisans who have poured their hearts into every handmade piece. Whether you're looking for a traditional mărțișor crafted from wool and ceramic, a designer jewellery piece, or something in a more contemporary style, the capital has a generous lineup of fairs and events dedicated to this beloved tradition in 2026.

Here is a complete guide with all the key events, addresses, opening hours, and prices.

If you've never visited the Village Museum, this is an excellent reason to finally make the trip.

A special event for the little ones, with creative workshops celebrating the 1st of March tradition: a traditional wool mărțișor workshop, a "Spring Flowers" crafts workshop, and a painted mărțișor workshop. An unforgettable afternoon for children and a wonderful opportunity to pass on the traditions that define us.

Practical Tips for Your Fair Visit

If you want to get the best of what's on offer, it's worth arriving early in the day — at the most popular fairs, the finest pieces tend to sell out quickly. The museum fairs (the Village Museum and the Museum of the Romanian Peasant) are more selective and tradition-oriented, while events at Victoria Hub, Sala Dalles, or the shopping centres offer a broader and more urban range. If you're bringing children along, the Mărțișor Factory at Supernova Alexandriei and the creative workshops are excellent choices.

Wherever you go, a mărțișor chosen at a handmade fair comes with something extra compared to one picked up quickly at a kiosk: it has a creator, it has a story, and sometimes you can even shake the hand of the person who made it.
