Every summer, as heatwaves arrive, Bucharest residents look for places where they can cool off and spend their free time with family or friends. Among the most popular destinations is Divertiland WaterPark, the largest water park in Romania by surface area, which has earned its reputation as one of the main summer attractions near the capital. Located in Chiajna, at 1 Divertismentului Street, just about 15 minutes from Bucharest, the complex offers a combination of relaxation, adrenaline, and activities for all age groups. The 2026 season started on June 18, and the park's management estimates that the number of visitors will exceed 200,000 by the end of the summer, setting a new record for the park. Now in its 14th season of operation, Divertiland continues to invest in both diversifying its attractions and improving the visitor experience, from digitalized access to expanding its restaurants and relaxation areas.
What attractions can visitors find at Divertiland?
Divertiland covers an impressive area of more than 100,000 square meters, making it one of the most comprehensive water parks in Eastern Europe. Visitors have access to more than 20 spectacular water slides, designed both for thrill-seekers and for those who prefer a more relaxing type of fun.
Among the most popular attractions are the wave pool, which recreates the feeling of being at the seaside, the Lazy River, where visitors can float on inflatable tubes carried by the gentle current, and the Olympic-sized swimming pool intended for swimming enthusiasts.
The park also features seven swimming pools dedicated to different age groups. Children enjoy specially designed areas with shallow water, interactive water games, and mini slides, allowing even the youngest visitors to have a safe and enjoyable experience.
At the same time, adrenaline lovers can try the high-speed water slides with spectacular routes and steep drops that turn an ordinary day at the pool into an unforgettable adventure.
In addition to the water attractions, Divertiland offers numerous sunbed areas, green spaces, and shaded spots where visitors can relax between rides.
Restaurants, desserts, and options for every taste
The park's food offering has expanded considerably in recent years. Today, more than 12 restaurants and food outlets operate inside the complex, allowing visitors to choose from a wide variety of meals.
The menus include burgers, pizza, street food, salads, desserts, waffles, ice cream, and refreshing drinks, including the increasingly popular bubble tea. As a result, families can spend an entire day inside the park without needing to leave the premises for a meal.
The diversity of the culinary options is one of the complex's main strengths, with choices available for both children and adults, regardless of their preferences.
How much do tickets cost in the 2026 season?
For the 2026 summer season, Divertiland launched the RETRO SUMMER campaign, announcing ticket prices inspired by those charged several years ago. The park's management also announced that the VAT increase would not be reflected in ticket prices, keeping admission affordable.
From Monday to Friday, an adult full-day ticket costs 75 lei. Children aged between 4 and 11 benefit from a reduced ticket price of 40 lei, while pupils and university students aged 12 and over pay 50 lei. Seniors over the age of 60 and people with disabilities benefit from a special price of 45 lei.
During weekends and public holidays, prices increase slightly. Adults pay 95 lei, children aged 4 to 11 pay 50 lei, while pupils and university students continue to benefit from a 50 lei ticket. Seniors and people with disabilities continue to pay 45 lei.
Children up to the age of 3 are admitted free of charge.
To celebrate the opening of the season, between June 18 and June 21, the park also introduced a special promotion allowing visitors of all age categories to enter for a flat rate of 50 lei.
How to get to Divertiland without a car
One of the park's main advantages is its accessibility. Even visitors who do not own a car can reach Divertiland quickly using public transportation.
The fastest option is the metropolitan train, which departs from Bucharest North Railway Station or Basarab Railway Station and reaches Parc Divertisment Chiajna Station in approximately 20 minutes. The journey costs around 4 lei.
Another option is the DivertiBus, the free shuttle service provided by the park, which transports visitors from the Preciziei metro station directly to the entrance of the complex.
Visitors may also use STB bus line 137 and get off near the Hornbach and XXXLutz stores, from where the park is only a short walk away.
For those arriving by private car, Divertiland offers approximately 1,000 free parking spaces, as well as charging stations for electric vehicles.
Faster access thanks to the Fast Track system
Starting with the 2026 season, access to the park has become much easier through the introduction of the Fast Track system.
Visitors can purchase their tickets online before arriving, eliminating the need to queue at the ticket offices. The QR code received after purchase is scanned directly at the entrance turnstiles, significantly reducing waiting times.
The digitalization of the entrance process represents one of the park's most important investments this season and is intended to improve visitor flow, especially during busy weekends when attendance often exceeds 9,000 people.
A park built with care for the environment
Beyond entertainment, Divertiland has aimed to be a sustainability-oriented project ever since it first opened.
The water park was inaugurated in 2012 on an area of approximately 72,000 square meters. Four years later, in 2016, the complex was expanded to approximately 200,000 square meters and increased its capacity to around 7,000 visitors at the same time.
A large portion of the energy required to operate the park is generated by a photovoltaic system, helping reduce conventional energy consumption and carbon emissions.
In addition, the company is currently carrying out a large-scale afforestation project covering six hectares, an initiative that complements its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
More than just a water park
Besides its daily summer activities, Divertiland has also become one of the most important outdoor event venues near Bucharest.
Strategically located on the A1 Motorway at kilometer 13, in the Militari area, the complex has all the infrastructure necessary for hosting large-scale events. Dedicated logistics areas, backstage facilities, industrial power supply, and technical infrastructure are available for event organizers.
Its total capacity allows it to host events with up to 20,000 participants, making Divertiland a popular choice for concerts, corporate events, product launches, and brand activations.
Throughout the entire season, visitors can also enjoy numerous contests, interactive activities, live entertainment, and prize campaigns, ensuring that every visit offers a different experience.
Thanks to its impressive size, wide range of attractions, and continuous investments in infrastructure and services, Divertiland maintains its position as Bucharest residents' preferred destination during hot summer days.
Whether visiting with family, friends, or while traveling through the capital, guests can enjoy everything needed for a perfect summer day: swimming pools, spectacular water slides, restaurants, relaxation areas, and easy access.
With competitive ticket prices, a modern entrance system, and a diverse selection of activities, Divertiland remains one of Romania's most popular leisure destinations during the summer season.
