If you want to relax, even for a whole day, in a space from another galaxy, we highly recommend Therme - the largest relaxation and wellness complex not only in Romania, but in Europe.
Located near the capital, in Balotești commune, Therme offers a unique relaxation experience, combining nature with science and entertainment. Covering an area of 250,000 square meters, of which more than 34,000 indoors, the complex can accommodate up to 4,000 people simultaneously. It is famous for its botanical garden with over 880 000 plants and the largest palm grove in Europe, as well as its 30 000 square meter urban beach with fine sand and sun loungers, which is very popular in the summer season.
Facilities on offer include swimming pools, jacuzzis, saunas, Turkish baths, relaxation areas and wellness centers, where visitors can enjoy various treatments and therapies. Therme Bucharest also includes fitness areas, restaurants and children's play areas, ensuring a complete experience for all ages.
Therme - Facilities and main areas
The entire wellness center is divided into three main areas: Galaxy, The Palm and Elysium, each with its own fun and relaxation facilities and different specifics.
Galaxy Zone
It is ideal for families with children as well as adults. Importantly, there is no age or height limit for children, but they must be accompanied if under 14.
In this area you can enjoy a wave pool (it has 6 programs, i.e. six types of waves) and 16 water slides, which add up to 1.5 kilometers of water slides. The tallest one is 12 meters high, but that's not the most interesting part, it's the fact that you can choose one of 6 sound and light programs, which make up the sound background.
In addition, the Galaxy area has plenty of seating areas, a pool bar, snack bar and a restaurant bar. It's good to know that all consumption is recorded with the wristband you get at the entrance and the total is calculated on departure.
The Palm area
This is the main area of the center, with relaxation areas for adults over 14. Here you'll find the largest pool in the resort, with a total area of 1200sqm. As the name suggests, it's dominated by exotic plants and a beautiful palm grove. The atmosphere is truly dreamy at sunset, when the pool becomes a fairytale; hundreds of colorful spotlights create an atmosphere you won't soon forget.
Also here you'll find 3 other pools with aromatherapy, a special outdoor pool (crazy river), a wet sauna (Rainforest) and a hamam.
Elysium area
This is the exclusive area, more expensive than the others and forbidden to under 14s. But once you buy tickets for this area, you have access to all the other areas.
Elysium is definitely for deep relaxation. Here you'll find entire relaxation areas, massages, themed saunas (Hollywood, Alhambra, Amazon, Bavaria, Himalaya), all designed and designed down to the smallest detail. The main attraction here is the selenium pool, a true oasis of pampering.
Therme - Special Events
The Herbarium Festival, taking place May 13-26, 2024, is a major event dedicated to therapeutic plants and aromatherapy. Over 45 international masters of aromatherapy and holistic therapy from 17 countries are present, offering workshops, infusions and rituals for health and relaxation. Activities include perfume creation workshops, artisan tea tasting sessions and self-massage techniques using essential oils. The festival is an opportunity to discover the benefits of plants in an educational and relaxing environment.
