If you're thinking of settling in Bucharest or you already live here and you want to change your home, you definitely want to choose a better, safer and nicer neighborhood. And if you don't have an unlimited budget (as most of us do), then the decision definitely needs to be weighed even more.

Storia has conducted a survey of over 44 thousand respondents in the capital, ranking the safest neighborhoods in Bucharest.

But before we present the results, let's look at what a safe neighborhood entails and what benefits it brings to its residents:

- Personal safety - When choosing where to live, probably the most important thing to consider is safety, the feeling that you are protected and that you are not exposed to various crimes.

- Family welfare - When you have a family and you have to choose a particular area to move to, you're no longer just thinking about your own welfare, but also the welfare of the other members. For example, if you have children, the most important thing is to bring them up in a safe environment with plenty of green spaces and playgrounds, with kindergartens and schools that will ensure their proper development.

- Access to quality facilities and services - A safe area also means a well-developed infrastructure, with quality public services and important facilities for the whole family. Good housing is not just about what's inside, but about the whole extension: roads, schools, hospitals.

- Sense of community - a safe neighborhood fosters the development of a respectful community where people get to know each other, communicate and build friendships.

So here are the safest areas in Bucharest:

At the top of the ranking for citizen safety is the Aviației neighborhood. Respondents to the survey were very satisfied with all the facilities they can enjoy while living there: medical services, cleanliness, access to shops and restaurants, and peace and quiet. But the downside is that housing here is among the most expensive in the capital.

In second place is the Tineretului area. Access to shops, restaurants and parks is just as satisfactory for those living in the center of the capital, and the price of rent is lower than if you chose to live in Aviației. Although it can't boast as much peace and quiet or as good air quality, the Tineretului area is very safe to live in. However, here you need to choose your accommodation carefully: the neighborhood has quite a lot of old blocks, and if you opt for an apartment in one of them, it's important to pay attention to the degree of resistance and thermal comfort, bearing in mind that they are usually connected to the public heating system.

In third place among the safest neighborhoods in the capital is the Titan neighborhood, which continues to be one of the most popular areas in the capital, especially for the recreational opportunities it offers its residents, but also for the fresh air enjoyed by those who live here. If you live here, you can easily reach IOR - Titan Park, one of the most beautiful and vast green areas of the capital. In addition, you have access to shops, restaurants, markets and the Park Lake mall.
