Under the leadership of Gheorghe Duca, on April 1, 1881, it underwent a structural transformation and was renamed the "National School of Bridges and Roads." Later, on June 10, 1920, the Polytechnic School of Bucharest was established, comprising four departments: Electromechanics, Construction, Mining and Metallurgy, and Industrial Engineering.
