Bucharest's Sector 1 Police is one of the most important public order structures in the capital, with several police stations covering different areas of the sector. It is responsible for maintaining public order, preventing and combating crime, road safety and citizen protection.

Sector 1 includes upscale residential areas, historic neighborhoods, and important economic and diplomatic centers, making the police in this sector able to handle a wide range of situations, from street crime to embassy security. Sector 1 Police also works with local and international institutions to fight organized crime and fraud.

Within the sector, regular crime prevention patrols are organized and there are dedicated structures for criminal investigation, public order and road safety. The police of Sector 1 frequently carries out prevention and information campaigns for citizens, with the aim of reducing the risk of crime and improving the relationship between the population and the police.
