Cișmigiu Garden (Park), located in the center of Bucharest, is the oldest public park in the capital, inaugurated in 1854. Designed by the German landscape architect Carl F. W. Meyer, the garden has been transformed over the years from a marshy area into a picturesque and attractive place with artificial lakes, shady paths and various species of plants and trees that color the landscape in every season.
The park covers some 16 hectares and offers a variety of attractions and facilities, including the Writers' Roundabout (which includes busts of famous writers and men of culture: Mihai Eminescu, Alexandru I. Odobescu, Titu Maiorescu, Ion Luca Caragiale, etc), the lake - where you can go boating in summer and skating in winter, and special areas for children. Cultural and recreational events, from brass band concerts to book fairs, are frequently organized in this green space, contributing to the vibrant cultural life of the city.
The Cișmigiu Garden is not only a place for relaxation and recreation, but also a cultural and historical symbol of Bucharest. With its varied landscapes and special atmosphere, the park continues to be a popular retreat for locals and tourists alike, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and a place to connect with nature and the city's history.
