Meteorologists have extended the Red Code warning for torrential and heavy rainfall, which will remain in effect until Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., covering the counties of Constanța, Călărași, Ialomița, Giurgiu, Ilfov, and the city of Bucharest. In these areas, rainfall amounts are expected to reach 80–100 liters per square meter, and locally 120–140 liters per square meter. Fourteen other counties in Muntenia, the southern half of Moldova, Dobrogea, the southeastern part of Transylvania, and Oltenia will be under an Orange Code warning for heavy rain, while other counties in Dobrogea, Muntenia, southern Moldova, and the Curvature Carpathians area will be under a Yellow Code. In Bucharest, the weather will be overcast, unusually cold, and rainy.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a Yellow Code warning for significant rainfall and wind intensifications, valid on Tuesday between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., for the counties of Bacău, Vaslui, Vrancea, Galați, Buzău, Brăila, Tulcea, Constanța, Ialomița, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Ilfov, the municipality of Bucharest, and partially for Brașov and Covasna counties.

Thus, in Dobrogea, most of Muntenia, and the southern half of Moldova, as well as in the Curvature Carpathians, significant rainfall is expected, with amounts of 20–25 l/sqm and locally up to 40 l/sqm. In the counties of Vrancea, Galați, Buzău, Brăila, Ialomița, Călărași, and along the coast, wind gusts are expected to reach 50–70 km/h.

“Locally, in northern Moldova, southern Transylvania, eastern and southern Oltenia, and in the western Meridional Carpathians, significant rainfall is expected, with amounts of 25–30 l/sqm and locally 40–50 l/sqm.
