Approximately 35–40 kilometres from Bucharest, in a setting dominated by forest, water and rich vegetation, Comana Adventure Park is one of the destinations suitable for those who want to exchange the city's hustle and bustle for a day spent outdoors. Located within the Casa Comana estate, in Giurgiu County, the park transforms nature into a real playground for children, teenagers and adults. Here, a family outing can become much more than a simple walk. Suspended trails among the trees, zip lines, high-altitude crossings and flights over the lake challenge visitors to test their courage, balance and skills. And for those who prefer more relaxing activities, the Comana area offers numerous alternatives, from boat or kayak trips to bicycle rentals and exploring nature. The Adventure Park is operated by Casa Comana and is designed so that adventure can be adapted to several age and experience categories. The trails are divided according to the participants' age or height, while the main attractions revolve around the idea of movement, pushing one's own limits and having fun.

An adventure for children, teenagers and adults

One of the great advantages of Comana Adventure Park is that it is not aimed at just one category of visitors. The complex has three trails intended for children aged between 4 and 6, another three trails for children aged between 7 and 14, and three trails intended for adults or children who are taller than 1.70 metres. Thus, a family can come together and each member can find their own level of difficulty.

The trails are arranged in the trees and include suspended obstacles, crossing elements and sections that require balance and coordination. For younger children, the experience can be a way to gain greater confidence in their own abilities, while teenagers and adults can turn the adventure into a real physical challenge. The idea is not necessarily for the participant to be the fastest, but to enjoy every stage and have the courage to keep going.

The atmosphere also contributes to the charm of the place. Instead of the walls of a gym, participants find themselves in the middle of nature, among trees, with the lake nearby and the green landscape of the Comana area all around them. Casa Comana also offers numerous recreational activities, which makes it possible to turn a visit to the adventure park into a full-day excursion.

The zip-line cascade and the flight over the lake

For many visitors, the highlight of the adventure is represented by the zip lines. The park has what is known as a Zip-Line Cascade, consisting of 10 crossings among the trees, which adds rhythm and adrenaline to the adventure trails. It is the kind of experience in which every descent is followed by a new challenge, while the sensation of freedom is enhanced by the fact that the activity takes place above the ground, in the middle of the vegetation.

Another attraction is the zip line over the lake, measuring 130 metres in length. For those who do not want to complete the entire adventure trail, it can also be experienced separately. According to the tariffs currently published by Casa Comana, one crossing over the lake costs 15 lei, while access to the tree-climbing activity costs 70 lei for three hours and includes three crossings with the zip line over the lake.

The view is one of the elements that makes this experience different from a simple zip line located in an urban park. During the crossing, the participant is above the water and can see the landscape from a completely different angle. For children, flying over the lake can be the moment they will talk about the most after the trip, while for adults it can become an opportunity to test their courage.

The Dragon Zip Line, the challenge from 20 metres above the ground

Among the attractions that have expanded the park's offer is the Dragon Zip Line, inaugurated in 2021. It is 300 metres long and starts from the Tower of the Sun, at a height of approximately 20 metres above the Casa Comana lake. Its length and starting point turn this experience into one of the most spectacular challenges available here.

For thrill-seekers, the Dragon Zip Line is more than just a crossing. It is an experience that combines height, speed and the natural landscape in a single moment. Starting from the tower creates the sensation of truly leaving the ground, while the 300-metre route allows the participant to enjoy the adventure above the lake area for a longer period.

At the same time, it is important for every visitor to observe the park's rules and follow the staff's instructions. Activities carried out at height require appropriate equipment and compliance with safety procedures. In the case of minors, access to the tree trails and zip lines is allowed only under the supervision of an adult, parent or guardian, who is responsible for the child's safety and behaviour throughout the activity.

How much does the adventure at Comana cost?

For those who want to spend several hours on the suspended trails, the tariff currently published by Casa Comana for tree climbing is 70 lei for three hours. The price includes three crossings with the zip line over the lake, making the activity a fairly complex experience for those who want to combine climbing with flying above the water. A single crossing with the zip line over the lake costs 15 lei.

Tariffs and opening hours may be changed, which is why visitors are advised to check the official information before setting off. This is particularly important during periods of unstable weather, as the operation of the park depends on weather conditions. During the cold season, Casa Comana states that the park is open at weekends only when the weather conditions are favourable, namely at temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius and without humidity. In unfavourable weather conditions, the park may be closed even if the official schedule indicates that it should be open.

Another important detail is that, according to the official information, during certain periods reservations are accepted only for groups, not for individual visitors. Before setting off, it is useful to check the schedule for that particular day and the availability of the activities.

Appropriate footwear is mandatory

A day of adventure in the trees requires slightly different preparation from a simple outing on the grass. Footwear is one of the most important details. The rules of Comana Adventure Park do not allow access to the tree trails and zip lines while wearing flip-flops, sandals, ballet flats, footwear with high soles or other types of shoes that do not provide the necessary protection.

Therefore, a pair of stable sports shoes is recommended, allowing safe movement and not slipping easily. Clothes should also be comfortable and suitable for physical activity. In the case of children, parents must consider both appropriate equipment and the fact that children cannot complete the trails without supervision.

These rules are not simple formalities. The trails include suspended elements, crossings and areas located at height, and following the staff's instructions is essential for ensuring that the adventure remains an enjoyable experience. Courage is important, but in an adventure park, responsibility and attention must come first.

Comana, more than just an adventure park

One of the reasons why the area is so attractive to Bucharest residents is the natural setting in which the Adventure Park is located. Comana Natural Park is a protected natural area of national interest, and its administration indicates an area of approximately 25,000 hectares. The area is known for its biodiversity, with 1,153 plant species, 212 bird species, 37 mammal species, as well as numerous species of fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

Comana is therefore a destination where adventure can be combined with exploring nature. Around the Casa Comana estate, visitors can take boat trips, rent boats, kayaks and bicycles, while children can also enjoy the Apolodor playground. Casa Comana also includes other recreational areas and restaurants, making it possible to organise a day in which physical activity is alternated with moments of relaxation.

For those who want to explore the area by bicycle, Casa Comana offers rentals, while the trails in Comana Natural Park allow for a quieter excursion through the landscape dominated by forests and wetlands. Thus, a trip to Comana can have different rhythms: adrenaline on the zip line, relaxation on the water and walks through nature.

A getaway less than an hour from Bucharest

For residents of the capital, one of the destination's greatest advantages is its accessibility. Comana is located in Giurgiu County and can be reached by car in a relatively short time, depending on the chosen route and traffic conditions. The address published by Casa Comana for the estate is 607 Gelu Naum Street, Comana, Giurgiu.

Instead of spending a day indoors in the city, visitors can enjoy forest, water, fresh air and sporting activities here. It is a suitable option both for families with children and for groups of friends who want to test their limits. The park is also used for activities intended for groups of children, with Casa Comana promoting day trips into nature and activities for children starting from the age of 4.

For a successful excursion, it is recommended to check the weather before leaving, especially if the main objective is the zip lines and suspended trails. It is equally important to check the current schedule and prices, choose appropriate clothing and footwear, and follow all access rules.

Comana Adventure Park thus manages to combine what many people look for in a weekend getaway: nature, movement and adrenaline. From the trails for the youngest visitors to the Dragon Zip Line, from the zip-line cascade to the 130-metre flight over the lake, the experience can be adapted to the courage and age of each visitor. And if the adventure becomes too intense, the surrounding nature always offers the alternative of a quiet walk, a trip on the water or a meal outdoors.

At Comana, the idea is not simply to reach the end of a trail, but to enjoy every obstacle overcome. For one day, the trees become starting points, the lake becomes a flight path, and a getaway on the outskirts of Bucharest turns into an experience that children and adults can enjoy together.
