From sushi and Japanese ramen to Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese dishes, the offer of restaurants in the capital has diversified considerably. Spring rolls, noodles, gyoza, aromatic curries and sushi platters have long since left the category of exotic dishes and have become common options for lunch or dinner. For those who want to discover several Asian culinary styles, choosing a restaurant can, however, be difficult. One place may specialize in sushi, another in ramen, while a Thai restaurant may focus on curry, noodles and spicy dishes. In this selection, I have included five Bucharest restaurants that offer different experiences and have exactly the kinds of dishes most frequently sought after: spring rolls, sushi and noodles. The information about menus and prices was checked in the sources available in September 2026. Prices may change, and some dishes may be available differently in the restaurant compared with delivery services.

Asian Lab, for a journey through several Asian cuisines

Asian Lab, located at 12 Mărășești Boulevard, is one of the interesting options for those who do not want to limit themselves to a single Asian cuisine. The menu combines influences from several parts of Asia and includes Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Indian dishes. The restaurant also has vegetarian and vegan options, which makes it suitable for groups with different culinary preferences.

To start with, the vegetarian spring rolls are one of the accessible options on the menu. They are crispy, filled with vegetables and served with sweet chilli sauce, while a portion of approximately 170 grams costs 25 lei according to the restaurant's menu. For those who prefer the fresh version, Asian Lab also has summer rolls with pork and shrimp, while vegetarian or pork gyoza complete the appetizer category.

When it comes to noodles, the offer is even more interesting. Thai Pad Thai is prepared with rice noodles, tamarind sauce and fish sauce, egg, vegetables, peanuts, coriander and green onion, and can be ordered with chicken or beef. Kunnai, located at 6-12 Copilului Street, in the Domenii area, is a restaurant dedicated to contemporary Thai cuisine. The restaurant is associated with Anne Ampawan, and its concept starts from Thai dishes presented in a modern setting. Kunnai has been in the same location for several years and is one of the well-known restaurants on Bucharest's Asian culinary scene.

Spring rolls are one of the highlights of the menu. Kunnai has both Por Pia Kunnai, the vegetarian version with cabbage, leek, onion and carrot, and spring rolls with fish, in which cod, shiitake mushrooms, green onion and soy sauce appear. There are also versions with shrimp and mushrooms, offering several possibilities for those who prefer crispy appetizers.

Noodles, however, represent an important category of the menu. Among the available dishes are traditional noodles with shrimp or chicken, noodles with beef, duck or pork, as well as versions with vegetables or mung bean noodles. Some portions are substantial, up to 450 grams, and combine rice noodles with vegetables, meat, egg, herbs and spices.

For those who prefer more pronounced Thai flavors, Kunnai can be a suitable choice. Besides noodles, the menu includes curries, stir-fry dishes, Tom Yum and other specialties that use ingredients specific to Thai cuisine, such as lemongrass, kaffir lime, galangal, coriander and fish sauce.

Japanos, for ramen, sushi and Japanese noodles

Japanos is one of the well-known names in Bucharest's Japanese gastronomy, and its restaurants in the capital focus especially on ramen, sushi and bento. Japanos started in Bucharest in 2015, and the company presents itself as one of the pioneers of Japanese ramen in Romania. It currently has locations such as Japanos Ateneu, Japanos Aviatorilor and Japanos Decebal.

For those looking for noodles, the difference compared with general Asian restaurants is the emphasis placed on ramen. The menu includes pork shoyu ramen, pork miso ramen, chicken ramen, spicy versions and a vegetarian option. The prices currently displayed for ramen bowls are, depending on the dish, around 55-66 lei.

Japanos also has bento dishes, including yakisoba noodles with vegetables or pork. For sushi lovers, there are rolls such as Dragon Salmon, Dragon Shrimp and Futomaki Tempura Philadelphia. Therefore, the restaurant can work very well when a group includes people who want sushi and others who prefer a filling bowl of ramen.

An interesting element of the concept is the declared connection with Japanese cuisine. Japanos states that it uses family recipes and ingredients imported from Japan and that it holds the “Authentic Japanese Restaurant” accreditation, awarded to restaurants outside Japan that meet certain standards of Japanese cuisine.

Sagakura Calea Victoriei, for sushi and modern Asian dishes

Sagakura Calea Victoriei, at number 87 Calea Victoriei, is another option for those who want to combine sushi with other Asian dishes. The menu is broader than one dedicated exclusively to sushi and includes ramen, bao buns, poke bowls, yakitori, noodles, nigiri, sashimi and several categories of rolls.

Among the appetizers are spring rolls, while the menu also includes gyoza and edamame. For those who prefer noodles, there are options with vegetables, chicken, shrimp or beef, prepared with bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, unagi sauce, garlic and ginger. The prices currently displayed for noodles are approximately 57 lei for the vegetable version and up to around 89 lei for the beef version.

The sushi section is one of the richest. There are nigiri, sashimi, classic rolls, special rolls and sushi sets. Among the available dishes are Rainbow Roll, with salmon, tuna, shrimp, eel, crab, Philadelphia and avocado, as well as Dragon Roll, with eel, crab, avocado, cucumber, tobiko roe and unagi sauce.

The restaurant is therefore suitable for a meal where sushi is the main attraction, but also for those who want to try different Asian dishes. Its central location, on Calea Victoriei, makes it easy to include in an outing through central Bucharest.

Ginger Sushi Bar & Lounge, for an experience focused on sushi

Ginger Sushi Bar & Lounge is located on Calea Victoriei, within the Radisson complex, and is primarily focused on Japanese cuisine and sushi. The restaurant regularly appears in selections dedicated to Japanese and Asian restaurants in Bucharest, and in the Tripadvisor ranking updated in 2026 it is among the Japanese restaurants with the highest number of favorable reviews.

Ginger is particularly suitable for those who want sushi to be the centerpiece of the meal. Its offer is associated with nigiri, sashimi and different types of sushi, in a setting more oriented toward an evening outing than a quick meal. Its location on Calea Victoriei, inside an important hotel in the center of the capital, contributes to the more elegant character of the experience.

In the public selections from 2026, Ginger Sushi Bar & Lounge is presented with a score of 4.9 out of 5 on Tripadvisor, based on hundreds of reviews, while the list dedicated to sushi restaurants in Bucharest also places it toward the upper part of the results. These scores reflect the opinions of users of the platform and should be viewed as indicators of the experience reported by customers, rather than as an absolute assessment of quality.

How to choose the right Asian restaurant

The five restaurants actually cover five different ways of discovering Asian gastronomy in Bucharest. For spring rolls and a wide variety of noodles, Asian Lab offers a very diverse menu, while Kunnai focuses on Thai flavors and dishes. For Japanese ramen and sushi, Japanos has an offer built around these two categories, while Sagakura combines sushi with noodles, ramen, bao and other Asian dishes.

Ginger Sushi Bar & Lounge is more suitable for those who want to make sushi the main attraction of a dinner. On the other hand, those who go out in a group and want to share several dishes may prefer restaurants with broader menus, where spring rolls, gyoza, noodles, curry and sushi can all arrive at the same table.

One thing is certain: in 2026, Bucharest no longer has just a few restaurants serving sushi or Asian dishes. The offer has become varied enough for every Asian cuisine lover to create their own list of favorites, from a hot bowl of ramen to a sushi platter or a portion of crispy spring rolls.
