The Spring Palace, also known as the Ceaușescu House, is, as the name suggests, the former private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu. Located in Bucharest, this palace offers a fascinating glimpse into the luxurious life of the former dictator and his family, and is one of the most impressive examples of architecture and history from Romania's communist period.

The palace was built between 1964 and 1965 and served as the private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu and their children - Nicu, Zoia and Valentin - for a quarter of a century until the outbreak of the '89 Revolution. Many official meetings and crucial political decisions for Romania took place here. The Spring Palace was not only a residence but also a symbol of absolute power and the cult of personality cultivated by Ceausescu.

Architecturally, the Spring Palace is an outstanding example of opulence and luxury, reflecting the extravagant style of the 60s and 70s. Its interior is decorated with marble, precious woods, elaborate mosaics and impressive chandeliers, every detail designed to demonstrate the power and wealth of the Ceausescu regime. The rooms are furnished with luxurious furnishings and many of them retain their original decorations, giving visitors an authentic insight into the former dictator's tastes and aesthetic preferences. The gardens and indoor pool complete the picture of a sumptuous residence.

Today, the Spring Palace is open to the public, offering guided tours that reveal fascinating details about the daily life of the Ceausescu family, as well as the historical events that took place here. Visitors can explore different rooms of the palace, including Nicolae Ceausescu's office, the family bedrooms and recreation areas. There is also an impressive collection of paintings by Octav Băncilă, Camil Ressu, Rudolf Cumpăna, Dumitru Ghiață, George Baron Lowendal, as well as a large number of handmade tapestries and a large number of handmade mosaics by Prof. Olga Porumbaru and Prof. Florin Pârvulescu.

Team-building, private parties and garden parties

The Primăverii Palace can even host team-buildings and private parties in its elegant and intimate rooms. What's more, as the Spring Palace's outdoor garden is generous and versatile, it can host a variety of special outdoor parties.
