The Telephone Palace (Palatul Telefoanelor) is one of the most iconic buildings in Bucharest, located on Calea Victoriei in Sector 1. Built between 1929 and 1934, it was Romania’s first skyscraper and a symbol of the city’s modernization during the interwar period.
With an architecture influenced by the Art Deco style, the building served for decades as the headquarters of Romania’s telecommunications company. Although it no longer serves its original function, being the head office of a private phone service company, the Telephone Palace remains an important architectural landmark and a key point in the city center.
