Nicodim Gallery, opened in 2014 by Mihai Nicodim, is a landmark for contemporary art in Bucharest. Located at 29 Băiculești Street, in Sector 1, the gallery offers an intimate and versatile space, ideal for installations, painting, and experimental projects. From the very beginning, Nicodim has promoted influential Romanian artists such as Adrian Ghenie, Ciprian Mureșan, and Șerban Savu, alongside emerging names from Europe and the United States. Its curatorial program is bold and eclectic, addressing social, political, and identity-related themes through a powerful visual language.
The gallery frequently participates in prestigious international art fairs like Art Basel Miami Beach and The Armory Show, actively strengthening the global presence of the Romanian art scene. The atmosphere is ambitious yet accessible, encouraging open dialogue between artists, artworks, and visitors, without elitist barriers. Guests are welcomed into a clean, modern, and professional environment, where every exhibition is curated as a reflective experience. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on Mondays and Sundays visits are available by appointment only.
How to get there:
The easiest way is to take the metro to Piața Victoriei station (lines M1 or M2). From there, you can catch a bus or trolleybus heading toward the Casa Presei Libere area, such as bus 131 or trolleybus 70, and get off at a stop close to Băiculești Street. From the stop, it’s just a short walk to number 29. Alternatively, you can walk from Piața Romană or Piața Victoriei in about 15–20 minutes, crossing Calea Victoriei and entering the quieter area near Casa Presei.
