The Piscu School Workshop-Museum is a unique place located in Piscu commune, Ilfov county, just a few kilometers from Bucharest. Established in 2020, this museum was created to preserve and promote traditional Romanian crafts and to support the training of new rural talents in the field of folk art.
The Piscu School focuses on training young talents in various traditional crafts, such as pottery, weaving, weaving and woodworking, where students learn directly from skilled craftsmen. The museum is home to an impressive collection of traditional handicrafts and offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the process of their creation.
Visiting hours:
- Saturday: 11am-5pm
- Sunday: 11am-5pm
- Saturday and Sunday no appointment needed.
Entrance tickets:
- Adults: 25 lei
- Children, students: 15 lei
- Family ticket: 60 lei
- Architecture students have free access to the Museum.
Scheduled visits: can be organized during the week only for groups of more than 10 people (children, adults, families). Costs are agreed with the group organizers, depending on the activities and time spent at the Museum.
Audioguides: The Museum has 10 audioguides. The audio material lasts 1 hour and consists of 9 chapters, possible to listen selectively.
Payment:
- The museum does not have a card payment device.
- Online payment can only be made by direct transfer, on site, by accessing the association's data via a QR code.
- The pottery, linocut and painting workshops take place throughout the visit program and are not included in the ticket price. Each visitor can choose the workshop of their choice.
- Pottery - making a pot on a potter's wheel with the help of a craftsman - 20 Ron
- Painting - painting a fired clay pot; using tempera colors - 20 Ron
- Linocut - making a linocut plate and printing it on paper - 20 Ron
- 3 workshop package (pottery, painting, linocut) - 50 Ron
- The drawing workshop is included in the ticket price.
- Recommended age for workshops: 4+.
- Younger children can participate only accompanied by parents.
- The workshops are also open to adults.
- Portrait workshop - only in sessions of 4 sessions X 2 hours, in groups of 5 participants. Sessions are announced on the School of Piscu facebook page.
