Plaza România is one of those malls with a bit of history under its roof—quite literally, since it was built on the skeleton of an abandoned communist-era building. Located in Sector 6, right between Drumul Taberei and Militari, it’s been serving the city since 2004. It offers a solid mix of over 170 stores, with names like Zara, Altex, and a full hypermarket for everyday needs. There’s also a Movieplex cinema, a bowling alley, a World Class gym, and a decent food court. It’s easily reachable via the Lujerului metro station, and the spacious parking is a plus for drivers. Plaza isn’t flashy, but for the west side of Bucharest, it’s a steady go-to for shopping, relaxing, and killing time on a rainy afternoon.
