The National Military Circle in Bucharest is a landmark of historical, cultural, and architectural importance, located on Calea Victoriei. Inaugurated in 1923, it was built as a ceremonial and social venue for Romanian Army officers, symbolizing national pride in the post–World War I era.
Designed in an eclectic neoclassical style, the building features an impressive façade with columns, ornate stonework, and lavish interior halls such as the Marble Hall and the Moorish Hall. These spaces are still used for official receptions, cultural events, and public exhibitions.
One often-overlooked aspect is that the Military Circle also houses an elegant public restaurant and terrace, where visitors can dine in a historic setting. The restaurant combines classic Romanian and European cuisine with the ambiance of an interwar palace.
Today, while still under the Ministry of National Defense, the building serves as a bridge between military heritage and public cultural life, offering both prestige and accessibility.
