Școala Gimnazială "Vasile Alecsandri" – No. 118 is located in Sector 1 of Bucharest, at 32–34 Știrbei Vodă Street, near Cișmigiu Park. With a history of over 150 years, the institution initially operated under the name "Sfântul Iosif" School, later becoming the Classical Mixed High School, and, since 1963, adopting its current name. In the 1998/1999 school year, the school moved into a new and modern building, continuing its tradition of excellence in 

 Educational Cycles and Programs

The school offers primary and lower secondary education, addressing students aged 6 to 14 years. For primary school students, there are four free after-school groups running between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM, where children can complete homework and engage in educational and recreational activities. Lower secondary students benefit from the National Program for Reducing School Dropout (P.N.R.A.S.), which provides additional tutoring hours to improve academic performance.

 Facilities and Modern Equipment

The institution boasts a modern building, equipped with:

  • 12 spacious and bright classrooms, each fitted with an eco-friendly whiteboard, projector, computer, and internet access.

Throughout its history, the school has educated numerous graduates who later became prominent figures in various fields, such as Oana Pellea, George Ivașcu, Mihai Constantinescu, Mircea Geoană, and Adrian Năstase. This tradition of excellence is upheld through a dedicated teaching staff and active involvement in educational and cultural projects.
