Founded in 1958, Secondary School No. 55 in Bucharest offers preschool, primary, and lower secondary education, and has gradually expanded both its educational reach and infrastructure. Today, the school operates in two shifts and consists of 28 classrooms spread across four separate buildings—the newest of which was inaugurated in 2011. Recent renovation and energy efficiency upgrades have significantly improved the quality of the learning environment.

In terms of academic performance, results from the 2024 National Assessment show a general average of 5.93, with 6.43 in Romanian and 5.43 in Mathematics, out of 96 students. While these figures show a slight decline compared to 2023 (5.97) and 2022 (5.84), the variation is not dramatic, suggesting a fairly stable academic trend with room for growth.

The school is equipped with modern classrooms, specialized science labs, a gymnasium, a library, and dedicated offices for counseling and medical assistance, all contributing to a learning space that supports both academic and personal development.
