Școala Gimnazială de Arte nr. 2, located in Sector 2, Bucharest, is a public vocational school founded in 1956, specializing in primary and lower secondary music and arts education. It operates as a supplementary program, meaning that students attend this school outside of their regular general education classes.
Students can enroll in courses such as instrumental music (piano, violin, etc.) and visual arts (drawing, painting, sculpture). In primary school (grades I–IV), the curriculum includes two hours of instrument and two hours of music theory per week. From grade V, students also take part in choral ensemble classes.
The school is well-known for its active participation in national competitions and festivals. One notable example is the school’s choir, coordinated by Prof. Raluca Ciurea, which earned First Prize at the “Ion Dumitrescu” National Choir Competition.
Facilities are adapted for artistic instruction and include dedicated classrooms, IT and science labs, a counseling room, and a sports hall. The school also participates in international educational programs, such as Erasmus+, and offers diverse extracurricular activities that nurture creativity and discipline.
