Liceul Tehnologic Special Nr. 3 is a public special education school located in Sector 2, Bucharest, on 37 Austrului Street. Founded in 1951, the institution serves students with hearing impairments and associated disabilities, coming from both the capital and surrounding regions in southern and southeastern Romania.
The school is housed in a building originally constructed in 1894 as a perfume factory, later repurposed and adapted for special education. Today, it offers modern classrooms, science and IT labs, a library, a sports hall, and other facilities designed to support a quality educational process tailored to students’ needs.
The school provides education at multiple levels: preschool, primary, middle school, high school, and post-secondary, with vocational training in fields such as natural sciences, tourism, and hospitality.
In addition, the school coordinates a Hospital School Program, ensuring that children hospitalized in Bucharest continue their education during medical treatment — a rare and vital service.
The school is actively involved in various national and international projects, including Erasmus+. It also organizes Campioni Speciali ("Special Champions") — an annual pro-inclusion sports competition that brings together over 1,000 participants, promoting integration through sport and community events.
