Colegiul Național “Emil Racoviță”, located in Sector 2, Bucharest, is a public school with a long-standing presence in the city’s educational landscape. It offers primary and lower secondary (middle school) education and is part of a broader institution that also includes upper secondary (high school) classes.
The school is well-equipped, with 15 classrooms organized by subject — including Romanian Language and Literature, Math, History, Geography, Foreign Languages (English, French, Latin), Music, and Visual Arts. It also features five science and IT labs, a gym, two outdoor sports fields, a multimedia library with over 24,000 volumes, a semi-boarding cafeteria, two medical offices, and even its own student radio station.
In the 2024 National Evaluation exam, the middle school section recorded an average score of 5.95, with 6.21 in Romanian and 5.69 in Mathematics. While not among the highest-scoring schools in the capital, these results reflect a school focused on progress and support for a diverse student body.
The school takes part in a variety of extracurricular and educational projects, including Erasmus+, “Alternative… The Art of Living Healthy”, “Book of the Year”, and “5 High Schools, 5 Museums.” Students are encouraged to participate in volunteering, cultural exchanges, and creative clubs, helping them grow beyond the classroom.
