The Mausoleum in Carol Park (Mormântul Ostașului Necunoscut) is an impressive monument dedicated to the heroes who fell in World War I, located in Carol Park, near the center of Bucharest. Inaugurated on May 17, 1923, the mausoleum houses the graves of over 3,000 unknown soldiers and serves as a place of worship and respect for their memory.
