Opened in 2003, the bookstore stands out through its warm and elegant interior design, featuring white ceramic stoves, high ceilings, and architectural details that preserve the charm of old Bucharest.

Beyond its generous bookshelves covering every genre, the space includes a cozy tea room, a dedicated children’s area, a summer garden, and themed rooms that invite slow browsing. Cărturești Verona also functions as a vibrant cultural venue, regularly hosting book launches, exhibitions, workshops, and acoustic concerts. In 2021, it was awarded Bookstore of the Year at the London Book Fair, an international recognition of its cultural and aesthetic value.

How to get there: The bookstore is located at 13–15 Arthur Verona Street, between Piața Romană and Piața Universității. It is easily accessible by metro: Universitate station (M2) or Piața Romană (M2), as well as by bus (lines 126, 368, 381). It’s also a pleasant walk from Magheru Boulevard.
