From September 21 to 27, the northern side of the Rebirth Memorial in Revolution Square gives up its role as a parking lot and turns into open public space. The project, called "Grădina Întâlnirilor" (Garden of Encounters), is organized by the Streets for People Association and marks the first time the area stays occupied by the community for seven consecutive days, not just over a weekend, as happened in previous editions in Revolution Square.

The program includes free coffee in the morning and afternoon, Romanian wine tastings in the evening, a reading corner, an outdoor office space, exhibitions, and workshops for children. Access is free, no registration required.

Each day also brings a themed event:

Monday, from 4:00 PM, residents can sit down with representatives of the city administration in five-minute sessions, in a format called "Speed Dating with the Administration." From 6:00 PM that same day, two content creators discuss street safety in a YouTube IRL event.

Tuesday, from 6:00 PM, Bucharest's General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu and the Order of Architects of Bucharest take part in the panel "Bucharest as a Brand," on what the city could look like by 2030.

Thursday, at the same hour, the discussion "Bucharest's Little Squares" brings together the Order of Architects of Bucharest, UrbanizeHub, and local administration, on how small public spaces change the way a neighborhood functions.

Friday evening, the square hosts an open-air classical music concert.

Saturday and Sunday, the Museum of Communism in Romania brings in "The Mobile Museum: History in the Open Air," a reconstruction of a communist-era apartment, set up right where the regime came to an end, in December 1989.

The full hourly schedule, with filters by day and activity, is available at strazipentruoameni.net. Organizers are also looking for volunteers for Monday's table, the SpO Corner workshops, or other roles during the week.
