School No. 145 in Bucharest, located on Heliade între Vii Street no. 36, in the Baicului neighborhood, is an educational institution with over 50 years of history, inaugurated on September 1, 1970. The school building includes a ground floor, two full stories, and a partial upper floor, with a front lawn and a sports field at the back.
The institution also hosts kindergarten groups, both with normal and extended programs, in separate buildings. Its library holds approximately 23,000 volumes, though it currently lacks a dedicated librarian.
There are eight functional labs for biology, phonetics, IT, math, geography, ecology, physics, and chemistry. The student population is composed mainly of Roma children and, in recent years, refugee students from countries such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Croatia.
The school houses a Social Protection Office and the Municipal Center for Educational Resources and Assistance (CMBRAE) on its second floor. The teaching staff is well-qualified, with many holding the highest didactic rank and permanent positions. The principal has been with the school since 1988, with deep insight into the local community and its challenges.
Academically, the school has struggled: according to a 2019 report by the Bucharest School Inspectorate, it recorded an average score of 2.18 in the National Evaluation, placing it among the lowest-performing schools in Sector 2.
