Anca Poterașu Gallery, founded in 2011 by Anca Poterașu, is an urban space dedicated to contemporary art freshly produced in Bucharest. Located at 26 Popa Soare Street, in Sector 2, the gallery operates inside a historic building, offering an elegant and intimate setting for exhibitions. It supports both established Romanian artists and emerging figures working in diverse media—photography, video, painting, installation, and sculpture. Since 2015, the gallery has run an international artist-in-residence program (ARAC), encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration and cultural exchange. Its ambitious curatorial program includes thematic group shows and participation in major art fairs such as Paris Photo, NADA Miami, Arco Madrid, and Frieze Sculpture.
The gallery is well-known for promoting a feminist perspective and for supporting contemporary Romanian photographers. The overall atmosphere is professional yet welcoming, where critical thinking and artistic dialogue are encouraged without elitism. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 18:00, and Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00. Visits on Monday and Sunday are by appointment only.
